THE BOLTON ZAKARIYYA JAAMI’ MUSJID ITS BID’AH, HARAAM SHENANIGANS


 A perturbed Brother from the U.K. writes: 


“Assalaamualaikum 

I am writing to seek some advice that I can follow and maybe forward to others to benefit from. 

I am not from the ulama, neither am I from those wealthy elders who seem to be running out Masaajid these days.

However this is just an observation. The Bolton Muslim community has been very fortunate that we have always had active masaajid from the very beginning. However, I wish speak about a particular masjid named, Zakariya Jame Masjid which is the largest central masjid in Bolton. It's foundation and duas for it were from the Akabireen Ulama of Deoband and was named after Shaykh Zakariaya (Rahmatullah alayh), if I'm not wrong. However, recently the happenings at this masjid have been far from the spirit of Shariah and the ta’leemaat of these senior Ulama of Deoband. I want to bring to your attention the 29th night of Ramadhan and don't what to waste time speaking about the fact that the masjid was like a war zone for some time. A dispute between a certain family carried on into the mosque and the brothers were fighting for power. This has all passed now and is history. 

What I wanted to ask about is that usually the imam is always rebuking the congregation on every little matter he feels necessary but there was no clarification on the happenings on this night. Maybe because it was organised by the committee or the wealthy donors. Allah knows. 

The Qur’an Khatam was kept on the 29th night and an Imam named Shaykh Muhammad Al Burraaq from Kuwait was invited to lead the final eight Rakahs. The shaykh was nowhere to be seen for the first twelve Rakahs unless he prayed at the back somewhere. He made a grand entrance to lead the last eight. Thereafter he made a congregational dua after taraaweeh.


Then the Musjid’s imam made a second loud congregational dua in Urdu. After all this the guest shaykh conducted Witr salaah in a manner that the majority Hanafi following brothers had no idea of what was happening and people were making all sorts of errors. He prayed all three Rakahs in one go without sitting in tashahhud for the second Rakah and made loud dua after ruku in the third rakah. Now I'm not sure if the shaykh was a follower of another madhab or if he is a salafi. However without explaining anything to the congregation was it correct for this to happen? Was it proper to have the different duas with a new style Witr? Also if it was a salafi method then should he be leading the salaah? The imam generally does not hesitate to correct the tablighis or those who sit for dhikr etc., however he hasn't commented on this. Infact he seemed to be quite impressed.

 The day before there was a huge interfaith event ofmen and women, and when we attended the masjid for salaah Muslim women were standing at the entrance of the masjid, inside and outside. I'm not sure if the event was still on or women were just loitering around. Again no announcement regarding this being wrong was heard from the imam or any member. This seems far from the teachings and guidance of the Akabireen Ulama of Deoband. Also it's a sad situation that the imam who never seems to hesitate in correcting the elderly men and simple laymen attending the masjid to pray, but fails to mention anything about these malpractices happening on a large scale. 

I leave it to mufti Saab if he feels correct to publish the above or something regarding this matter and any advice. Also I would like to remain anonymous. There are those who will even attack brothers. I've already seen fights take place in this masjid. (End of letter) 

COMMENT 

We are living in times in close proximity of Qiyaamah. Rasulullah’s predictions have to necessarily materialize. One of his predictions is that the people will manipulate the Deen for the attainment of worldly and nafsaani designs and objects. The fighting for power in the Bolton Musjid belongs to this category of events which are issues of the nafs for the attainment of hubb-e-jah (love of fame). Generally, the imaams and the molvis of today are the bootlickers of their employers, hence they dare not utter the Haqq. Allah Ta’ala being the Raaziq is only on their lips, not in their hearts. Their sustainers are their wealthy employers and donors who are bloated with ignorance and arrogance. 


The Kuwaiti character who led the 8 raka’ts mock ‘taraaweeh’ is not a follow of any of the Four Math-habs of the Ahlus Sunnah Wal Jama’ah. He is a stupid Salafi who attempted to walk along two different paths to appease the ignorant muqallids as well as the ignorant salafis. He was trying to kill two birds with one stone. 


The Imaam of the Musjid is clearly the bootlicker of his bosses and donors, hence he abstained from proclaiming the Haqq to satisfy his bosses who had invited the bid’ati Kuwaiti. The shenanigans of the Kuwaiti are in conflict with all Four Math-habs of the Ahlus Sunnah as well as in conflict with the deviate way of even the Salafis. The Duas of both the Kuwaiti and the Imaam of the Musjid are acts of bid’ah sayyiah (evil innovation). Intelligent musallis should not have participated in these acts of bid’ah. It was not permissible for the Hanafi Musallis to follow the Kuwaiti deviate in the Witr Salaat. The method of the Witr Salaat adopted by the Kuwaiti is the way of the Shaafi’ Math-hab. Salafis are morons who vacillate between the vagaries of their wildly fluctuating extremes dictated to them by their copro-opinion. Even if the Imaam had to be a genuine Shaafi’, then too, Hanafis should perform their Witr separately. The interfaith meeting in the Musjid is akin to kufr. The presence of women in and around the Musjid is haraam, and the Imaam is guilty of condoning haraam by abstaining from proclaiming the Haqq. Brother, you will still live to see worse shaitaani shenanigans being enacted in the Musaajid by so-called molvis of Deoband. They are now all members of the league of ulama-e-soo’ who are on the rise in this age. They are in fact the scum of the Ummah. Regarding these villains, Rasulullah (Sallallahu alayhi wasallam) said: 

“I fear for my Ummah the aimmah mudhilleen.”

They are the imaams. molvis and sheikhs who mislead the Ummah by means of their outward Deeni guise. But, Rasulullah (Sallallahu alayhi wasallam) branded them as ‘scum’. About the likes of these mudhilleen, Nabi-e-Kareem (Sallallahu alayhi wasallam) said: 

 “The Saalihoon are departing (in quick succession) one after the other. Then there shall remain only hufaalah (scum, chaff, waste matter) like the chaff of wheat or dates. Allah will have no care whatsoever for them.” 

Those Musallis who lack the power to bring about valid Shar’i change in the establishment of the Musjid, should perform their Salaat and leave silently. They should not become embroiled in the filth of the trustees and the miscreant imaam. But those who do have the ability to effect change, should speak up and proclaim the Haqq. Brother, all your observations and feelings regarding these shenanigans are correct.

You need not be an Aalim to understand the truth. Your Imaan is a sufficient indicator. Hence, Rasulullah (Sallallahu alayhi wasallam) said: “Seek a fatwa from your heart.” The heart of the sincere Mu’min will not issue a baseless fatwa.
