Q. A senior mufti in Egypt issued a fatwa permitting Muslims living in non-Muslim countries to sell alcohol to non-Muslims. Please comment.
A. Such ‘muftis’ come within the scope of the Qur’aanic verse: “You will see many among them (the Ulama of Bani Israaeel) hastening in sin, transgression and eating suht (haraam, filth). Vile indeed is that which they commit. Why do the Saints and the Theologians not prohibit them (the masses) from their sinful statements and their eating of haraam? Indeed abominable is that which they perpetrate.” (Surah Maaidah, aayat 144). These hired ‘scholars’ sell the Deen down the drain.
