A Brother from Lenasia writes:

Asalaamualaikum respected Ulama and brothers in Islam,

We make Dua you are well and ask for your Dua.

I wish to highlight a great flaw and missed opportunity with the LMA Madrassah.

For a number of years now I have been going to a few Masajids in Lenasia where LMA has Madrassahs operating.

At Asr time the Madrassah classes are dismissed and the children are left free to play around in the Masjid yard and on the streets surrounding the Masjid awaiting their transport or LMA sponsored transport.

Why don't these Ulama (Apas & Moulanas) and the Management of LMA plan that these children first perform their Salah before going home? Why hasn't the Madrassah teachers instilled the love of Salah in these kids instead of letting them run around outside the Masjid and making noise whilst we are in Salah.

Kindly comment on this matter as in my opinion the Salah is not afforded the attention it deserves and we have missed a great opportunity in instilling the love of the Salah in our young kids.

Jazakallah Khairan,

(End of letter)

Why should they be concerned about the Salaat of the children? These modernist maktabs are under the auspices of the ulama-e-soo’. They have nafsaani and monetary objectives. The Qur’aan is no longer taught for Allah’s Pleasure and for the salvation of the community.

This total lack of understanding the importance of Salaat, and the   imperative need to inculcate in the children the importance of the fundamental of Salaat testify for the lack of genuine Deen in the personnel operating these maktabs.

The very first reason for teaching the Qur’aan is to ensure that the children understand the fundamental importance of Salaat and that they become staunch observers of Salaat and of the Deen. But when the hooliganism of the children is acceptable right in the Musjid yard and whilst the Salaat is in progress, then it is quite easy to understand the hooliganism in the minds and hearts of the teachers, supervisors and the parents, and of even the Imaam an trustees of the Musjid who all condone such evil which is akin to kufr. The Deen is not a hobby.

Rasulullah (Sallallahu alayhi wasallam) said that when a child of ten years in not in the habit of regular Salaat, he/she should be beaten, and this Fardh Act be instilled into the child. But, these so-called ‘deeni’ personnel are totally uncaring of the commands of the Shariah and of the Imaani future of the children who are their pupils in the Maktab. The first culprits are the parents.
