BEWARE OF THE GULENIST MOVEMENT OF KUFR AND DECEIT
The Gullenist who had plotted the recent failed coup in Turkey are active in South Africa. The network of Turkish so-called ‘islamic’ schools and the Gulenist Temple called ‘Nizamiye Musjid’ in Midrand, Gauteng are Gulenist institutions. Muslims must beware of these institutions and totally dissociate from them. We reproduce here the WARNING issued by a group of Turkish Scholars.
“Assalamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu
Dear Brother/Sister,
We hope this letter finds you in the best health and iman.
We are writing to you to warn you against a popular movement with a secret agenda that is disguised under Islamic pretense; this movement has gained tremendous power and infiltrated into many organizations, institutions and various social organizations in Turkey and around the globe.
As you must be aware, there was a coup attempt in Turkey on June 15, 2016. This coup attempt was carried out by the Gülen movement. A group of Gülen followers in the Turkish Army carried out brutal attacks in Ankara and Istanbul. They hijacked F16 planes, army helicopters and tanks and bombed the Turkish Parliament, Headquarters of the Turkish Armed Forces, kidnapped the Commander in Chief and many generals, bombed the Ankara and Istanbul Police Headquarters, Special Forces Headquarters, Türksat (Turkish Satellite Communications Center) and Turkish Telecom. At this point, the kidnapped Commander in Chief was given the option by his kidnappers to talk to Fetullah Gülen on the phone, which he refused. A special unit of 20 plus highly trained military commandoes attacked the hotel where the President was vacationing with his family. There were snipers and tanks on the Bosporus Bridge and on the main roads of both cities, shooting at people at point blank range. That night Gülenists killed more than 240 people, mostly civilians. The number of wounded exceeds 1,500.
The people of Turkey poured out onto the streets to defend their country and their democracy after a FaceTime call was made to a news channel by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, who called on the people of this country to claim their independence. The willpower and the courage, with the help of Allah Almighty, of the Turkish people prevented this coup.
The coup attempt was not successful because it took place before the date it was originally planned. The coup was brought forward because the government was preparing for a serious crackdown on the Gülenists in the army during the following days. This caused the Gülen movement to prematurely implement the coup attempt. With the help of Allah Subhanahu wa Taala their evil plan failed.
The Gülen movement, which also uses the Turkish word Hizmet (serving others) for their activities, presents itself through interfaith dialogue, charitable and educational organizations throughout the world. This disguise was also used in Turkey to gain the trust of the Turkish government and the Turkish people until recent years. People who follow Fetullah Gülen have been working secretly for the past fifty years to infiltrate the Turkish Army, the Turkish judicial system, education system and government organizations. The Gülen movement is also in touch with key organizations and institutions around the world. In 2013 it became clear that the Gülenists within the police and the judicial system in Turkey had fabricated evidence, used blackmail and disinformation to imprison many army personnel. This was a turning point in modern Turkish history. From this point on, the Gülen movement started a war against the democratically elected government of Turkey.
This brought out the Machiavellian nature of this organization, which is actually an esoteric cult giving new meaning to Islamic concepts and principles to suit its own agenda. Through allowing haram acts such as alcohol consumption, fabrication, slander and disguising Islamic identity for the purpose of serving the movement, the Gülen movement contradicts the basic tenets of Islam. Rather than following the Qur’an and Sunnah, they choose to follow the teachings of Fetullah Gülen. As they covertly work their way up the ranks of various organizations and state institutions they disregard law and order, planting their own people and establishing a very dangerous web of loyalists. Although they seem religious at first, people who are loyal to this movement will only serve their own interest without any regard for justice or human rights. The Gülen movement does not work for the benefit of the Ummah. With their interfaith programs and schools, they have been spreading their own version of Islam. They believe their leader to have extraordinary capabilities and many have confessed and even declared that he is the awaited Mahdi. For this reason, they are blinded to the faults of their own leader and their own movement.
We, as scholars and professionals of Turkey advise you to reevaluate your relationship with any individual and/or organization that is affiliated with the Gülen Movement. We would like to reiterate that the Gülen Movement does not serve the welfare of the Ummah but only its own secret agenda.
As mentioned in a hadith, we pray that Allah Subhanahu wa Taala will enable us to see the Truth as Truth and give us the ability to follow it and enable us to see falsehood as false, giving us the ability to remain distant from it. Amin.
Walhamdulillahi Rabbil Alamin.
