A Brother offered the following naseehat to the miscreant ‘mufti’ who is a proponent of Bid’ah, and also advises the Orient School regarding the baatil ‘eidgah’ status:

Respected Mufti Zubair Bayat Saheb,

Asalaamualaikum Waramatulaahi Wabarakatuhu.

(1) Loud congregational Dua after Eid Khutba is Bid'ah.

In KZN Jamiats question and answer department Mufti Ismaeel Bassa answered the question regarding the loud congregational Dua after the Eid Khutbah. He replied that it is Bid'ah and the correct way of the Shariah was that the congregation should make individual silent Dua. Mufti Ismaeel Bassa's answer was checked and approved by Mufti Ebrahim Desai.

It is of imperative importance to understand that the congregational Ibaadat at the Eidgah has been ordered and explained by Nabi (sallallahu alayhi wasallam), upheld by the Sahabaah and the Ummah for more than 1400 years. There is absolutely no scope for the SLIGHTEST addition or deletion from the Shar'i proceedings.

This loud congregational Dua after the Eid Khutbah at the Orient School grounds today is an addition in Islam and therefore a Bid'ah. Bid'ah is evil and haraam even if it is presented in the form of Ibadaat.

Kindly apply your mind to this matter for the coming Eid-ul-Adha Eidgah.

(2) Traffic chaos after the Eidgah.

With this year’s Eid falling on Monday, many non-Muslims were severely inconvenienced by latecomers to the Eidgah parking haphazardly. Traffic coming into the city was backed up considerably. It was a shameful situation. The Orient Trustees must actually stop Eidgah's from being performed here in the future because of two reasons viz. (a) This traffic situation and (b) The Shariah stipulates that the Eidgah is an open field located on the outskirts/boundaries of the town. It is not in the middle of the town. The argument that a sports field, school grounds, university campus etc. is Sunnah is ludicrous because sports fields, so called 'islamic' school grounds are not on the outskirts and are haraam venues. So, when even a Musjid should not be used for Eidgah, then to a greater extent such Mal'oon places should not be used for Salaat.
