Please comment on the following statement regarding Hashim Amla, the cricketer. The statement appeared in a Saturday newspaper on 14 January 2017:

“He (i.e. Amla) introduced me (i.e. his female cousin) to Buddhism, and a few other books that illustrate that even as a man devoted to Islam, he was still open to learning more about other people and their cultures.”

I am disturbed by the Buddhism aspect.

Your disturbance stems from sound Imaan. Shaitaan has developed a new tactic of misleading ignorant Muslims including ignorant molvis. The Devil is now for the first time in his lifetime using faasiq Muslim sports chaps to spread his tentacles of kufr, shirk, fisq and fujoor. This Amla character is an agent of Iblees. He is devoted to shaitaan. His ‘islam’ is the profession of a Munaafiq. A professed Muslim who introduces others to the worst type of shirk and kufr such as Buddhism can only be an agent of Iblees who slinks among Muslims, misleading them in subtle ways.

When Hadhrat Umar (Radhiyallahu anhu) was once studying the Toraah, Rasulullah (Sallallahu alayhi wasallam) flew into a rage and prohibited him from reading the Toraah which at the time was vastly more authentic than what it is today. Despite it being a revealed Scripture from Allah Ta’ala, this great Sahaabi was forbidden to look at it. Now what should be concluded of a jaahil, faasiq, faajir who introduces Muslims to shirk and kufr?  His ‘muslim’ appearing outer facade is extremely deceptive. Morons and juhala are entrapped by this outer muslim appearance.

This Amla character has befuddled and befooled ignoramuses and modernists with his deceptive beard and a couple of deeni features which he demonstrates in public  view to impress his religiosity on the minds of ignoramuses who are deficient in Imaan and spiritually bankrupt.  His outer deceptive façade is the screen of nifaaq with which shaitaan is camouflaging the agency of Iblees by means of which his (shaitaan’s) ward is misleading juhala.

His entire sporting profession is haraam – more haraam than the profession of a zaaniyah. While the zaaniyah ruins only the morals of a man, Amla with his   deceptive ‘deeni’ façade constitutes a threat for the Imaan of the juhala in whose minds he is entrenching that the haraam sport of cricket together with its consequential myriad of haraam activities are ‘noble’ and halaal.

Firstly, the kuffaar sport of cricket is per se haraam even if it should be stupidly assumed that not a single haraam act accompanies it. Rasulullah (Sallallahu alayhi wasallam) said: “Every sport of the Mu’min is baatil (i.e. false and haraam).....” An intelligent game such as chess, played in the privacy of the home without a single other haraam factor attending it, is like “dipping the fingers in the blood of a pig” according to Rasulullah (Sallallahu alayhi wasallam). What conclusion should be drawn from haraam kuffaar sport accompanied by a host of shaitaani acts? Infinitely aggravating this haraam, satanic cricket activity are the evils of:

  • Intermingling of sexes
  • Haraam photography
  • Haraam videoing
  • Haraam television
  • Kuffaar dress, both by the shaitaani sportsmen and the baboonic spectators
  • Shaitaani rowdyism, shaitaani cheering and the like.
  • Shaitaani ethos permeating the venue, the players and the spectators. There may not be a viler compound of shaitaaniyat than sportsmen performing for the public gallery.
  • Gambling
  • Liquor
  • Demeaning of the noble Faculty of Aql with kuffaar acts and attitudes
  • Riya (show/ostentation), Ujub (vanity/self-esteem) and Takabbur (pride)
  • Tashabbuh Bil Kuffaar (Emulating the kuffaar in almost every aspect, every step and every attitude
  • Unnecessary association and mingling with kuffaar, fussaaq and fujjaar
  • Remuneration (wages) for haraam sport indulgence. It is haraam to earn by means of activities of lahw and la’ib such as sport.
  • Etc., Etc., Etc.

The worst aspect of satanism which sets this Amla character apart from other fussaaq and fujjaar Muslim sportsmen, is him being an ambassador of shirk and kufr whilst donning a ‘deeni’ appearance. A man who introduces others to the vile shirk of Buddhism is a dangerous Iblees.
