HOSTING THE YOU-TUBER MOLVI NOT PERMISSIBLE
Some Brothers, including Talaba of the Madrasah are querying the hosting by the Madrasah of a faasiq, You-Tuber molvi, viz. Molvi Yasir Nadeem Wajidi from the U.S.A. In this regard, a Brother queries:
“Assalamualaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu
I am confused regarding a certain aspect and seek advice. We know that many of the senior Ulema of South Africa are firm against photography. However Darul Uloom Zakariyyah is currently hosting Mufti Yasir Nadeem Al Wajidi from America, a graduate of Darul Uloom Deoband. Mufti Yasir is well versed in atheism and modernism etc. However, he uses YouTube and photography frequently to propagate his messages. This is not just a visit to Darul Uloom Zakariyyah that the honourable principal is unaware of, but a whole week’s program hosted at the Darul Uloom. It is confusing because we hear from the Ulema not to host such Ulema and share platforms with them, then we find this happening in our own quarters.

The Madrasah has grievously erred in seeking assistance from a faasiq regardless who the chap may be and regardless of him having studied at Darul Uloom Deoband. Islam is not reliant on the dissertations of fussaaq regardless of their expertise.
Hadhrat Maulana Ashraf Ali Thanvi (Rahmatullah alayh) had explained that even a book of Arabic grammar in which nothing but Nahw/Sarf appears, if it is authored by a faasiq, it should not be adopted as a text book for study. The effect (athr) of the fisq of the author permeates his writing which will exercise a spiritually detrimental effect on the one who studies from such a book.
Everything has an athr. Muslims, especially the Ahl-e-Ilm, should not act like crass materialists who are bereft of spiritual understanding. Firstly, hosting the faasiq, secondly, the silly subjects of atheism and modernism, are a poor commentary of the lack of Isti’daad (academic ability) which the Madrasah authorities perceive in their Talaba. These are not such subjects which require much expertise. A Taalib-e-Ilm even of mediocre Isti’daad can develop the ability to refute the rubbish propagated by atheism and modernism. Atheists and modernists are baboons propagating baboonic theories. Academic ability of a high degree is not necessary for refuting their rubbish kufr. It requires only some reading of the nonsense disgorged by the atheists and modernists. There was absolutely no need for the Madrasah to invite a faasiq to address the Talaba.
A fundamental requisite for Ilmi Isti’daad is Inhimaak (engrossment) in mutaala-ah of the Kutub and the cultivation of Taqwa. It is demeaning to subject the Talaba to sit and listen to the discourses of a faasiq. Any Student who may be interested in refuting atheism may read up some books on this subject after completing his Darsiyaat, not prior to completion of Madrasah studies.
The attention of the Talaba should not be diverted from their Darsi Kutub by the introduction of extraneous subjects, be these of a valid and noble nature. The error of the Madrasah is academically and spiritually harmful for the Talaba.
In all pursuits and endeavors the niyyat must imperatively be Ridha-e-Ilaahi. Therefore, every move must be in strict conformity with the Shariah. Acts, practices and persons who are inimical for the Roohaaniyat of the Talaba should be shunned and banned.
