GUESTS OF THE CAPE TOWN SHIAH TEMPLE

Ziyaad Patel who is a member of Imdaad Foundation openly affiliates and associates with the Shiah Quds temple of Cape Town. What is his status? And what is the status of Imdaad Foundation? Can Zakaat, etc. be given to Imdaad whilst its prominent member Ziyaad Patel accepted being a guest of the Shiahs?
Answer
Ziyaad Patel’s flirtation with the Shiahs cannot be attributed to ignorance. Being invited to be a guest at the Shiah Temple speaks volumes for the sinister agenda of this man. He must have been flirting with the Shiahs and they must be reposing a good degree of confidence in him, hence they invited him to be their guest of honour, and he responded to perform for them in their temple in Cape Town.
It will, therefore be correct to infer that Ziyaad Patel at the worst is a Shiah, and at the best is a Shiah sympathizer. This man needs to publicly declare his allegiance. Is he a Shiah or a Shiah sympathizer? As long as he desists from publicly explaining his dalliance with the Shiahs, his claim of being a Muslim will be regarded as Nifaaq.
As for Imdaad Foundation – there is a need for an explanation. Imdaad should state with clarity their stance. Does Imdaad condone the Shiah dalliance of Ziyaad Patel? If no clarification is forthcoming, the Muslim community will become apprehensive regarding the funds they are entrusting Imdaad with. It is therefore, imperative for Imdaad to issue a statement of clarification. Ziyaad Patel’s affiliation with the Shiah Temple has cast a dark shadow over Imdaad Foundation. Imdaad should hasten to correct the misapprehension which has developed in Muslim quarters regarding its Islamic integrity on account of the Shiah embrace of one of their prominent members, namely, Ziyaad Patel.

Is it permissible to contribute funds to SANZAF, Gift of the Givers and Jusa (Jamiatul Ulama S.A.)
Answer
It is not permissible to contribute any funds to these un-Islamic bodies masquerading as Islamic organizations. Even haraam interest may not be given to them.
It is absolutely necessary for Muslims to exercise caution when contributing their monies to organizations, especially Zakaat. These organizations lack the Islamic credibility for handling Muslim funds.
