THE HARAAM SHENANIGANS IN THE GUISE OF THE DEEN
HARAAM FUND-RAISING

Wa alaikumassalam wa rahmatullah wa barakatuh Respected Maulana,
Jazak Allah Khair for your response.
In a previous email I had mentioned to Maulana about the fundraising they do here in the masajid. What happens is they trap the musallis between Isha Salah and Taraweeh and a fundraiser then uses his tactics to get money out of the musallis, it’s a shameful display.
A couple of years ago on khatam night they invited a fundraiser (they brought him on after Isha Salah saying he’s Sheikh so and so and he’d like to say a few words). This man then proceeded to run an auction style fundraising event – it took most of the time that is alloted for Taraweeh. They rushed with the khatam after the lengthy fundraising, reciting suratul fil till the end twice.
I can see they’re setting up the same thing this year. They’re advertising the fundraiser as a Sheikh. I’m quite certain he’s the same man from last time. They already finished the 29th juz last night (27th night) and tonight I think they’ll read till Surat ul fil and then make it a khatam thing on wed (29th night).
Furthermore, the place is jam packed on khatam nights and excessive amounts of women come. To the extent that even if you go early you have to park many streets over and walk.
I’m thinking about not going to the masjid and just doing it at home especially if they’re going to be reading from Surat ul fil to the end, twice. I can just do that home and save myself from the dark event and the accompanying problems.
Due to the overcrowding issue it most likely won’t be possible to just make Isha with jamaat and leave because cars get blocked. Should I perform Salaat tonight at home?
(End of letter)
Answer
Yes, remain at home. Do not participate in the haraam shenanigans which the Juhala are perpetrating in the name of the Deen. They are all ensnared in the Trap of Iblees.
