BEWARE OF FRAUDS AND SCOUNDREL MONEY-SWINDLERS
Robbed of her life’s savings, a distraught Sister writes:
My husband’s cousin who I loved as my own sister called me in January 2024.
She introduced me to an investment that her son was doing. She said that it was to uplift us ladies who are nearing retiring and wanting to build the little capital we have.
She spoke very highly about her son and how he was such a straight person, always ALLAH fearing, pious and righteous.
She also assured me that the investment is 100% halal as he was trading in gold and also that her son was trading for years. The mother also assured me that the money is guaranteed 100% safe and that investors cannot loose the money. And in the case of any unforseen problem her son has secured enough Kruger coins to pay the money back. So in other words the capital is guaranteed safe.
The mother also told me that she invested R100 000.00.
She needs the money for her haj and her son was going to double the money for her haj. Once again she told me about friends of hers and family members who are also investing and had been investing with him.
After hearing all this and having a very high respect and trust for the mother I decided to chat to her son who told me the very same thing . The son also called my husband and gave him the same promises and assurances. He told us that he has investors who invest up to 1 to 1.5 million with him, so my money is very small compared to them.
I decided to invest with him.
He gave me two options a monthly pay back and an annual.
I decided to invest
R300 000.00 with him
- R100 000.00 on a monthly basis where I was guaranteed to receive
R21830. 00 per month starting at the 1 March 2024 until December 2024.
- I invested R200 000.00 on annual where I was promised a guaranteed amount
R480 000. 00 at the end of December 2024.
March arrived there was no payment. I called the son and he told me that he had a bit of a problem bec Feb was a short month however he will deposit the money to me by the 1st week of March.
After many calls , text messages he deposits R5000.00 and then tell me he has a problem, and he is waiting on SARS clearance but again promised me to pay me double the amount by 1st April 2024.
I was patient. April arrived no payment. I call / text him again he then tells me he transferred the money , the slip is at his office so he will send it to me. The entire month passes by no money received.
I then call his mother, she did not seem helpful. I then get my husband to call him and his mother, here again he makes empty promises no money received
Then the mother calls me and tells me that her son had an electricity outage while trading and has lost all the money and there is nothing we can do.
My husband then calls both mother / son and ask to pay us the money back with the Kruger Rands and guarantees that he put forward. Stories , lies and empty promises but nothing has come.
To this date after 7 months we only received R15 000.00 from him. When my husband calls him he does not take the call. When he messages both the mother and son they ignore us.
The mother became very nasty to me and said that I wanted to make quick buck and forget about ALLAH talah when investing, which is not true
Mufti Saab it was on assurances and guarantees of the mother that I invested. I don’t even know her son as I am new to their family.
My question here is, according to islam is it compulsory for the mom to ensure that I get my money back, as she says it has nothing to do with her and I must not blame her. Yet she was the person who called me assured me and introduced me to her son and this investment.
Maff for the long email as I tried to put in as much info.
(End of the Sister’s letter)
Far from the deal being 100% halaal, it was 100% HARAAM. It was a clear-cut Riba deal operated by scoundrels. Both the mother and son are scoundrels of the worst order.
Sister, you and others have been ripped off by these frauds and scoundrels. Reconcile yourself with the fact that you have lost your money. Don’t expect the scoundrels to repay the money they had acquired from you fraudulently.
According to the Shariah, the son to whom you gave the money is liable. He has to repay you the money which he had frauded from you. The mother was an evil accomplice in the scam, but you cannot demand payment from the witch. Allah Ta’ala will deal with her.
People should not allow their ‘greed’ for quick money to entangle them in the fraudulent webs of scoundrels. Understand well that there are no Shariah compliant investments and companies. All of them, the so-called ‘islamic’ banks and the like, are all scoundrels and operating HARAAM deals marketed under Islamic nomenclature.
They are rubbish scammers and frauds suffering from the shaitaani-inflicted mental disease described by the Qur’aan as Takhabbatush Shaitaan. Do not touch these fraudulent so-called ‘islamic’ financial institutions with even a bargepole. All of them, included their molvi advisors, are frauds and scoundrels.
