EVIL BID’AH JALSAHS
Following in the footsteps of the Barelwi Bid’atis, are now the so-called Deobandis. While the Barelwi Bid’atis have their embedded Bid’ah merrymaking functions such as Meelaad, Urs, 7 day Khatmas, 4 Day Khatams, etc., the so-called Deobandis have innovated Bid’ah practices such as Jalsahs of a variety of kinds, mass I’tikaafs and the like.
The Urs bid’ah of the Barelwis was initiated by sincere Shaikhs, albeit short-sighted. They were unable to foresee the haraam practices which would in future become attached to their urs functions which initially were without haraam activities. The same applies to Meelaad.
Our Deobandi elders who had originally initiated Madrasah jalsahs with good intentions have also acted with short-sightedness. That is why Hadhrat Maulana Ashraf Ali Thanvi (Rahmatullah alayh) wrote in condemnation of these Madrasah jal’sahs. It should be understood that all acts which have no origin in the Sunnah will degenerate and develop into hardcore Bid’ah with the passage of time.
These jalsahs – madrasah jalsahs, hifz jalsahs, islahi jalsahs, etc., – have become merrymaking functions of israaf and riya. A new dimension has now been introduced to further corrupt these jalsahs. View the following advert:
This is the first time in the recent history of the jalsah khurafaat that a hifz jalsah is being announced and advertised in the manner of haraam wedding invitation cards. The name of the qualifying student is brazenly advertised with riya dripping from every word on the advert. Every sane Muslim will understand that the motivation underlying this advertised hifz jalsah for just one student is indeed shaitaaniyat and nafsaaniyat. The riya is emblazoned in the whole of the haraam advert.
The name of Allah Ta’ala is misused. The dua advertised is hollow. The Deeni act of Hifz which is an amal of the Aakhirat is used for jeefah – the carrion of the dunya and nafs. A person becomes Haafiz of the Qur’aan Majeed for the Pleasure of Allah Ta’ala and for the acquisition of Thawaab. The reward is in the Aakhirah. But the parents, to express their takabbur and riya are using their son for giving practical expression to their nafsaaniyat.
Their ‘jalsa lunch’ is haraam. It is a contemptible feast of riya and takabbur. Consuming such food by misusing the Qur’aan Majeed, will darken the hearts of the consumers who resort to merrymaking and gluttony at the haraam feast of the bid’ah so-called ‘hifz’ function. From whence did they acquire this evil bid’ah ‘hifz’ jalsah? There is no such function in Islam.
There were thousands of Huffaaz among the Sahaabah and during the Khairul Quroon. But there were no jalsahs of riya, takabbur and israaf to celebrate the Hifz act of Ibaadat. The invitation in the style of haraam wedding cards is indeed despicable and loudly proclaims and displays the corrupt intentions of those who are committing the sin of this bid’ah ‘hifz’ jalsah.
While Palestinian Muslims are being starved and denied basic food and even water, and while they are being butchered mercilessly by the Yahood and Nasaara, Muslims here are indulging gluttonously in merrymaking jalsahs and squandering huge amounts of money to gratify the very evil demands of their evil nafs. They should hang their heads with shame and drown themselves. They are the brothers of Iblees.
