HILAAL VERIFICATION – WIFAAQUL ULAMA REJECTS FALSE RUMOURS
Some entities have claimed that Wifaaqul Ulama has handed over the responsibility of verifying the Hilaal for establishing the Islamic months to the bogus uucsa (united UL-LU council of south Africa). Rejecting this baseless notion, Wifaaqul Ulama has issued the following statement:
“We are aware of the message going around on social media saying that Wifaaq has handed over Moonsighting to uucsa. This is incorrect.
Just to clarify, we have an independent procedure for sightings and if any sighting is reported we do our own verification.”
