A MUSJID PROGRAM AND A BROTHER’S NASEEHAT
A galaxy of Ulama has organized a bayaan programme in Port Shepstone, Natal. A Brother proffers the following naseehat for the Ulama:
WIFAQUL ULAMA OF SA – PORT SHEPSTONE MUSJID PROGRAM
(Mohammed Bhayat of Westville, Durban)
Herewith, find attached a Musjid poster for the abovementioned program.
It is extremely disappointing that the organisation has arranged such a program and in this format. This is a night of entertainment and feasting for the masses. We discern no spiritual benefit nor cultivation of Taqwa amongst those attending. The Ulama in attendance should have been more circumspect in their decision.
The organisation should have advised those Ulama linked to them on the pertinent issues and have it addressed without fanfare in the weekly Jumuah bayaan and during their respective majlis programs.
There is no need to play with words and address the “Rise and fall of Nations”. These Ulama know all too well the sins and transgressions of our community. The matter must be addressed clearly and unambiguously.
They and others have had enough opportunity over the last few years especially during the COVID lockdown, to openly identify and castigate the miscreants, including those that are supportive and sympathetic towards them. Why are Musjids still giving them a platform and why are the Ulama not publicly rebuking them for doing so?
When will the litany of transgressions and opening the door to vice for which the scholars are responsible going to be addressed? Are these not the scholars which Nabi sallallahu alayhi wassalaam feared more for the Ummah then the fitna of Dajjal?
When will they inform the public that taubah is required for their acts of nifaaq and kufr during the lockdown?
The massacres in Burma, Bosnia, Iraq, Syria, India and Palestine have been nothing but the result of flagrant transgression of the masses and the behaviour of the Ulama.
In an erroneous effort to prevent the Ummah from depression and despondency the Ulama speak in glowing terms of those especially from Palestine. The Ummah needs a dose of reality, if not now than when? We are in the last of eras.
The gross transgressions of Shariah which they have perpetrated and the punishment that Allah Ta’ala has decreed as a result do not feature in their analysis.
Many Ulama praise Hamas and the citizens of promoting tilwaat and hifz of the Quran Shareef, which whilst meritorious and extremely beneficial does not deter from the reality that disobedience to Allah Ta’ala is rampant amongst the populace.
The public too despite many reading the Fazail e Amaal, take no heed to the chapter of Muslim degeneration and its only remedy.
We find no understanding that Ulama directly or indirectly portray the populace to be Islamic role models, when their lifestyle and behaviour are not in line with Sunnah. This sad state in this era is brazenly advertised on social media. In doing so they have set a dangerous precedent that jeopardises the Iman of the Ummah.
When are the Ulama going to publicly warn their followers and the public about the widescale consumption of haraam which has ruined the spiritual fibre of the believer?
We make dua that Allah Ta’ala brings about our reformation, obedience and ittiba e sunnah which is our only means of salvation.

Comment
The meals to be served after Esha transform the bayaan into a merrymaking, wasteful program. There is no need to bait people with food. The people over here are not starving as they do in Gazza. The money to be squandered on gluttony can be utilized beneficially and constructively.
A bayaan should be retained with the simplicity displayed by our Akaabireen. Whoever wishes to come, will come to listen to the bayaan even without food.
With eight Molvis harnessed to speak, the program does appear somewhat frivolous. For a genuine bayaan in the style of the Akaabireen, one Aalim suffices for a simple bayaan in a simple manner in a Musjid. The style of the program is in emulation of the modernists. The program appears to be bereft of Ikhlaas. The show/riya is quite evident.
We trust that the Ulama will heed the advice and ruminate over it.
