RESPONSE TO MUFTI KHANPURI’S COMMENTS
Please comment on the following comments of Mufti Ahmed Khanpuri Sahib:
Tashaddud (Hard-line / Extremism) of South African Ulama
“I always say that in regards to the issues of contention that arise in South Africa, the approach of the Ulama of South Africa in comparison with other places in the world is one of tashaddud (rigidity and hard-line).The severity of this hard-line approach is such that we have not seen such extremism even in India. Regarding certain masail and aspects that are not Farz or Wajib, such issues ought to be discussed in the circles of the Ulama – and when these discussions and differences reach the awaam (general public), the respect and honour of the Ulama is diminished in the hearts of the general masses. I am in no position to be speaking to you about these aspects but these messages and information reach me so I’m mentioning it.
In India also we see instances where Ulama have differences, sometimes very serious differences, among the Ulama of Deoband too there are differences but they never make it public or discuss it in manner that brings disrepute to another colleague nor do they denigrate the next Alim because of it. In South Africa you need to ensure this approach (of tolerance and respect) is also upheld – those who are responsible should make an effort to engage the person who is hard-line and confrontational – it is not necessary that he be asked to change his opinion – he may continue holding his opinion but his position should not be a means of denigrating another scholar. In this way the respect and honour of the Ulama fraternity shall be maintained in the eyes of the public and there will be easiness in the work of Deen. Allah guide us all.”

OUR RESPONSE
Firstly, the venerable Mufti Sahib has failed to apply his mind correctly. Secondly he based his understanding and conclusion on misinformation fed to him by his South African cronies.
Let it be known that we are not the muqallideen (followers) of Mufti Khanpuri Sahib nor of any of the Ulama today in India and Pakistan. We are the Muqallideen of Imaam Abu Hanifah (Rahmatullah alayh). There is no incumbency for us to adopt the methodology of Mufti Khanpuri Sahib or of any of the Ulama in India and Pakistan or anywhere else in the world.
Mufti Khanpuri, sitting in India, being fed misinformation by cronies then making disparaging comments without having even sought to verify the correctness of what has been fed to him, has acted, to say the very least, irresponsibly unbecoming of his stature as a current-day senior Mufti.
Of importance is that a Mufti from another country should not plunge into the methodical processes of Ulama of other lands. He is unaware of the circumstances which constrain the adoption of the so-called ‘Tashaddud’ approach. We here in South Africa are in the vortex of a conflagration of fisq, fujoor, bid’ah and kufr which are publicly promoted by the ulama-e-soo who are misguiding the masses. In fact, they are not ulama. They are satanic juhhaal.
Mufti Khanpuri Sahib while commenting on Tashaddud of the Ulama has conveniently ignored the issues which demand Tashaddud. The issues of difference do not pertain to such furooee masaa-il which allow for Ikhtilaaf. We are confronted with KUFR perpetrated and promoted by rascal, trash, scoundrel molvis who have bartered away their Imaan for the jeefah of the dunya.
While Mufti Khanpuri may adopt silence and hallucinate about the ‘image’ of such scoundrels, we are not of that ilk. The Mudhilleen may not be respected and honoured as is the policy of Mufti Khanpuri. The scoundrel agents of Iblees must be exposed, nailed and shamed to prevent the ignorant masses from becoming entrapped in the tentacles of their fisq, fujoor and kufr.
Molvis praying in churches under crosses, promoting the kufr interfaith ideology, luring Muslim girls into churches, and indulging in a range of absolute villainy, haraam and kufr, have no image for our consideration. They are the progeny of Iblees. But now Mufti Khanpuri deems it appropriate to vindicate these vile specimens of humanity in terms of his baseless concept of ‘the image of molvis’. It is scandalous to speak in favour of shayaateenul ins.
We are dealing with hardened Munaafiqeen who are digging up the foundations of the Deen. Our advice for Mufti Khanpuri is to apply his mind before acquitting himself on an issue. His concern for the ‘image’ of the molvis who are rotten to the core, is in reality vindication of their public fisq, fujoor, bid’ah and kufr.
The venerable Mufti Sahib is more concerned about the image of the ulama-e-soo’ than the image of the Deen. He has failed to understand against what and against whom is the so-called ‘Tashaddud’ approach directed. In fact, he has not even made an endeavour to fathom what the issues are which are being vigorously and vehemently criticized with so-called ‘Tashaddud’.
His comments are a lament about the image of molvis. Yet he fails to understand that the ulama-e-soo’ themselves bring disrepute and disgrace to themselves with their shenanigans of fisq, fujoor, baatil, bid;ah and even kufr.
