THE DECEPTION OF “HAJJ PROGRAMS”

A Hajj Program was conducted in Isipingo Beach, Durban on 12th April. The venue for males was the Musjid and that for females was the girls madrasah. Refreshments were served after Maghrib. Is there any Islamic merit in such a program?
Answer
The “Hajj Program” was another one of these recent merrymaking innovatory functions which is plaguing the community. The presence of females, especially for lingering after Maghrib for indulgence in some gluttony and the ‘amal’ of refreshments highlight the impermissibility of the program.
While ostensibly it was a ‘deeni’ program, in reality it was at the behest of the Nafs. The molvis who conducted the program are supposed to be of the Deobandi type, yet they could not understand their gargantuan error of luring women out from their homes to attend a futile program and then to remain until after Maghrib for indulgence in some merrymaking which include some gluttony, futile talk, and gheebat which normally bedevils congregations of women. Also, female adornment is a necessary corollary of female emergence from the home, and this is tantamount to zina according to Rasulullah (Sallallahu alayhi wasallam). Only morons will believe that they had emerged as Tafilaat.
These ‘deobandi’ molvis failed to apply their Aql constructively. Their cognitive dissonance is the effect of nafsaaniyat. When it is not permissible for women to attend the Musjid for even Fardh Salaat, how can it ever be permissible for them to attend a ‘hajj-umrah program’ when the vast majority of the attendees will not even be going for Hajj? And, assuming all of them are going for Hajj, then too, the program method of educating them is untenable in the Shariah.
Imparting Ilm of the Deen should be in the aura of Ghaar-e-Hira. It was here that the Qur’aan Majeed was revealed. Thus, every branch of Ilm of the Deen stems from the Qur’aan Majeed. The merrymaking ‘refreshment’ program after Maghrib and the luring of females into the public domain are vehemently nugatory of the atmosphere necessary for the Ta’leem of the Deen.
There is absolutely no need – absolutely no need – for merrymaking public programs bedevilled by gluttony and female khurooj (emergence from the home) to educate people about the masaa-il of Hajj. A plethora of simple Hajj Guide books is available. While the smattering of ‘knowledge’ acquirable from a haraam merrymaking program will be forgotten, the Hajj Guide book will be of great assistance.
The molvis who conducted this un-Islamic program, if they are sincere, are extremely naïve to say the least, for having participated and believing that they have rendered the Deen and the people a favour. They should be more conscious and learn to apply their Aql with constructive cognivity.
Furthermore, in this era of fitnah and fasaad, in this era of satanic commercialization of Hajj and Umrah, in this era of sin – sin from the time of leaving home until returning home – the Ulama should vigorously discourage Nafl Umrah and Nafl Hajj. If the objective is Thawaab, encourage the people to perform Ishraaq Salaat – encourage them to contribute their money for the aid of their suffering and brutalized brothers and sisters, instead of squandering it down the shaitaan’s sewer drain of Israaf. They become the brothers of Iblees with their colossal waste according to the Qur’aan Majeed.
The molvis are dwelling in self-deception, that is if they are sincere, and if not sincere, then it is worse, if they believe that they had accomplished an act of Deeni merit with their ‘hajj and umrah’ program. The mildest criticism for the misguided program is that it was a nonsensical stunt of the Nafs.
May Allah Ta’ala guide the errant Ulama who have no concern – absolutely no concern – for the plight of the Ummah. The Ummah is ablaze with sin and with the Athaab of Allah Azza Wa Jal, but the molvis are snug in their merrymaking programs, jalsah and other stupid functions proffered in the name of the Deen. All of them come within the purview of the Hadith which acerbate that they are Signs of Qiyaamah:
“A time will dawn when the dunya will be pursued with the amal of Deen.”
The Deeni Act will be their cover with which to camouflage their nafsaaniyat and to hoodwink ignorant Muslims. May Allah Ta’ala have mercy on this fallen, errant, miscreant, humiliated Ummah of this era.
