SULIEMAN, THE MURTAD PROPAGATOR OF THE BABOON THEORY OF THE ATHIESTS
Question
Does Darwin’s theory of evolution have any validity according to the Shariah? Mr.Omar Sulieman espouses the theory of evolution for man’s appearance (not creation) on earth. What is the Shar’i status of a person who believes in and promotes the theory of evolution?
Recently, Omar Suleiman visited our country. After his departure, I began reading through some of his articles and listening to his talks. Upon reviewing his content, I came across numerous problematic issues. Among them, there were two particularly serious and grave errors that stood out. I felt it necessary to present these to Hazrat Mufti Saheb, to seek Hazrat’s input and to confirm whether I am understanding it correctly.
- EVOLUTION THEORY
In 2018, the Yaqeen Institute—founded and presided over by Omar Suleiman—published a booklet titled Tawaqquf and Acceptance of Human Evolution. In it, the author, David Jalajel states:
- On page 22: “The conclusion is that Muslims are not obligated to deny the idea of human evolution in order to remain faithful.”
- On page 25: “It is possible for traditionally-minded Muslims to accept human evolution without reservation and without having to reinterpret the texts about the creation of Adam and Eve.”
- And on page 26: “It is possible for a person to believe in human evolution, based on scientific evidence, and dismiss the story of Adam being created without parents… A person can accept both ideas, since there is no inherent contradiction between them.”
Additionally, there is a lecture on Omar Suleiman’s website which is dated December 9, 2020. It was given by Dr. Hatem Al-Haj, whom Suleiman has described as his mentor and beloved teacher. In this lecture, Dr. Al-Haj states:
“There could have been other Homo sapiens (humans) before Adam S. Those Homo sapiens could have developed from other animals, and those animals could have developed from the first cell. That’s, you know, evolutionary biology.”(Timestamp: 00:09:35)
Furthermore, an article termed human origins by Dr. Yasir Qadhi, a close associate of Omar and published on Omar Suleiman’s website, states: “It is also a mistake for Muslims to make the blanket statement, ‘Islam does not accept evolution.’ Evolutionary science is not bad science.”
In that same article, Yasir Qadhi employs a domino analogy that he frequently uses to explain this reconciliation. Imagine a row of dominoes falling one by one. Now, if someone puts a fallen domino at the end of the row, a person looking at the row would not know it was not part of the original falling sequence. Qadhi says that while evolution was going on, Adam S could have appeared miraculously at the right moment.
- BELIEF REGARDING ISA S
In his article “Jesus: A Foundation for Dialogue Between Muslims and Christians”, published in December 2018 and updated in July 2024, Omar Sulieman whilst discussing verse 157 of Surah An-Nisaa, which states: “They did not kill Him (Isa S), nor did they crucify Him, but it was made to appear so to them,” he writes: “His enemies did not kill or crucify him because it was Allah who caused his apparent bodily death; it was part of the divine plan so that the signature miracle of the Resurrection would be fulfilled. Understood in this way, it may be possible to fully reconcile the Qur’an, the Gospel narratives, the signature miracle of the Resurrection, and the historical record without claiming divinity for Jesus or setting one source against another.”
On verse 55 of Surah Aal-e-Imran: “When Allah said, ‘O Isa! I will take you away fully and raise you to Myself…’” He writes: “A third group said that the word ‘take’ here really is a euphemism for death. Ibn Abbas L reportedly explained ‘I will take you’ as ‘I will cause you to die,’… it could be said that he died a natural death, not by crucifixion, and was brought back to life and raised to heaven.”
To support his erroneous belief, Omar Suleiman says: “Ibn Abbas L reportedly explained “I will take you” as “I will cause you to die.” This is a serious mistake, as there are two narrations from Ibn ʿAbbās L that clarify and complement each other. It is incorrect to quote one while ignoring the other. In Dur al-Manthur, with an authentic chain of narrators, Ibn ʿAbbās L explains this verse. He says that this verse means: “I will raise you up to Me and thereafter cause you to die at the end of time (i.e. just before Qiyaamat).”[1] Therefore, to claim that Ibn ʿAbbās L said “I will cause you to die” is a selective quotation. Jazaakallah
Answer
A person who subscribes to the baboon theory of the baboonic athiests loses his Imaan. He is a Murtad. These shaitaani ‘scholars’ of the west masquerading as Muslims are the agents of Iblees.
They seek to interpret the Islamic teaching of man’s creation and appearance on earth, to conform with the baboonic theory of evolution of the athiest scientists who are perhaps the offspring of baboons, if not of some breed of devils. These murtaddeen lurk in the Muslim community and they slither like snakes in the grass lying in ambuish to rob unwary and ignorant Muslims of their Imaan.
Their tongues are forked and moulded by Iblees to present kufr camouflaged with ‘deeni’ hues. The Hadith mentions about Iblees urinating in the ears of people. However, regarding these Ibleesi expounders of the baboon theory, Iblees excretes in their brains, hence shaitaani faeces is disgorged from their mouths. They are doomed to everlasting perdition in Jahannam if they do not repent and correct their kufr baboonic beliefs.
It is haraam to listen to the talks of these murtaddeen who promote the baboonic theory of evolution of the atheists. Only atheists are so stupid as to believe a baboon theory excreted by veritable devils in human form.
