FLOTILLAS OF FISQ, FUJOOR AND ZINA
MERRYMAKING JAUNTS FOR THE IMMORAL
Question
A Muslim woman who was on one of the Gaza flotilla boats was hosted by the Lakefield Muslim Jamaat to present her experiences on the boats. The woman was not accompanied by a mahram. Is it proper for the Muslim Jamaat to host her? Also what is the status of these flotillas from the perspective of the Shariah?
ANSWER
Every Muslim whose Imaan has not been corrupted to the degree of insensitivity by fisq and fujoor will readily understand the Shariah’s stance pertaining to the flotillas. Rasulullah (Sallallahu alayhi wasallam) said:
“Seek a fatwa from your heart.”
A heart in which healthy Imaan is embedded – Imaam not ruined and indurated with a preponderance of evil, will understand that these flotillas are shaitaani merrymaking stunts which are in total violation of every law of the Shariah. Women who claim to be Muslim but who had the immoral audacity of joining the evil shaitaani flotilla is undoubtedly a zaaniyah according to the Shariah.
A ‘Muslim’ organisation hosting such a zaaniyah is an agent of Iblees. It acts with blithe disregard for the Shariah of Allah Ta’ala. It is an organisation consisting of immoral Rubbish. It is an enemy of Islam.
THE FLOTILLAS?

My husband and I were having a discussion regarding the flotillas for Palestine. He is of the opinion that there isn’t any real benefit in Muslims participating as he believes that the aid will be intercepted and won’t reach the poor people of Gazza. Meanwhile I think that these people Muslim and non-Muslims are actually taking up an initiative and are risking their lives to help the Gazzans while we, myself and my husband included, are doing almost nothing to help and continue to live lavishly, eat lavishly and spend lavishly and still we feel the need to criticise those who are actively trying to help out. What is the correct thought?
Answer
Hypocrisy is evil and stems from one’s fictitious belief of righteousness. If you feel so strongly about the correctness of the participating in the flotilla merrymaking jaunts then why are you indulging in comfort and why are you still eating lavishly and why are you spending lavishly. The least you can do, if you are honest, is to show your solidarity by abstaining from lavish food, spending lavishly and living in comfort and pleasure. Abstain from all of this.
While you castigate others who do not join the flotillas, you do not criticize yourself for your hypocritical stance. From the perspective of the Shariah it is not permissible for Muslims to join these kuffaar-fabricated flotillas. Kuffaar methods which are accompanied by violations of the Shariah are never permissible.
Firstly, what is the motive of these flotilla kuffaar? The intention is not to deliver aid to the brutalized Muslims of Gazzah. The flotilla people have 100% certitude that their boats will not be able to deliver the smattering of ‘aid’ which are on the showpiece boats merely for cosmetic purposes. Since it is a forgone conclusion that all of the characters on these flotilla boats will be arrested and kicked out by the Israeli oppressors and that not a slice of bread from the nominal ‘aid’ on the boats will reach the stricken Gazzans, then of what benefit is the flotilla gimmick?
According to the kuffaar, the benefit is to solidify world opinion against Israel thereby isolating this criminal aggressor. But in terms of Islam, the opinion of the ‘international community’ is a stupidity. Benefit for Muslims is only from Allah Ta’ala. The Qur’aan Majeed states explicitly:
“Help is from only Allah, The Mighty, The Wise.”
The Qur’aan further says: “If Allah abandons you, then who is there besides Him to help you?” In other words, there is no one.
The many infractions of the Shariah perpetrated on these boats, render participation 100% haraam. There prevails a zina atmosphere on these boats. Sister, if you are informed of your husband’s intention to take a second wife which Allah Ta’ala allows him, you will undoubtedly explode into insanity. Many wives even jettison their Imaan and opt for Jahannam by rejecting the Law of Allah Ta’ala pertaining to plurality of wives. Now if you hear that your husband whom you may have convinced to join the zina flotilla has struck up a zina relation with some faasiqah-kaafirah – there are many of them on these boats – what will be your reaction? We are sure that you will forget about Gazzah and its suffering people. Your life will come to an abrupt halt.
Understand well that the atmosphere and the environment on these flotilla boats are a zina combustible admixture. Regarding the clear, beautiful night skies adorned with the beautiful shining moon and glittering stars, the Qur’aan Majeed says:
“…He (Allah) has created the seven heavens in layers. You will not see any flaw in the creation of Ar-Rahmaan. Again turn your eyes (and look at the beauty). Do you see any cracks (flaws)? Then again and again look! Your gaze will return exhausted and embarrassed. Indeed We have beautified the earthly heaven (the First Sama’) with lanterns, and We have made them a means of striking the shayaateen, and We have prepared for them the Punishment of the Blazing Fire.” (Surah Mulk)
About the intelligent Mu’mineen, Allah Ta’ala says:
“They reflect (and ponder) on the creation of the heavens and the earth, and they (involuntarily) exclaim:
‘O Our Rabb! You have not created this in vain.
Glory unto You! Save us from the punishment of the Fire.” (Aal-e-Imraan)
This is the reaction which sky and star-gazing will extravagate from intelligent Mu’mineen who fear Allah. But what will be the reaction of a faasiq Muslim sitting with some lewd kaafirah on these boats gazing at the night sky adorned, brightened, glittering and beautified by the wonderful creation of Allah Ta’ala? Allah Ta’ala will be the furthest from his mind. Instead of exclaiming Subhaanallah!, every vein of the faasiq on this occasion will pulsate with zina.
On these flotillas swarmed in an atmosphere of zina, fisq, fujoor and kufr there is total mixing of the men and women, music, and frolicking. They spend their time in a mix of tasks. Crew members (males and females) work all together. They live in close quarters and quickly form tight-knit communities. They all eat together, indulge in raucous banter, and give their zina lust a tremendous boost with haraam music and singing which are vital acts for passing the time. While intelligent Mu’mineen use the night sky for contemplating on Allah, the flotilla gangs use it for zina.
One chap informs: “Someone usually brings a guitar, ukulele or drum. They sing protest songs, folk music and traditional Palestinian songs – dabke music is common.”
In brief, the flotilla atmosphere and environment are filled with zina ingredients. Everything on these boats is haraam. Never is it permissible for a Muslim to cast himself in a situation where he will wallow in najaasat, fisq and fujoor.
For Muslims there are only two options: Jihaad or Sabr. If the Ummah has the power, then the Waajib option is Jihaad. When power for Jihaad is lacking, then the only option is Sabr – to reform ourselves morally and spiritually and to resort to Dua. We understand nothing else. Flotillas, protest marches and all stupid methods of the kuffaar are haraam for Muslims. Looking askance at the kuffaar phantoms for aid stems from either extreme Imaani deficiency or lack of Imaan.
“Seek aid from Allah with Sabr and Salaat.” (Qur’aan)
“If Allah aids you, no one can then defeat you. And, If He abandons you, then who is there to help you besides Him. On Allah should the Mu’minoon have trust.” (Aal-e-Imraan, Aayat 160)
