KHILAAFAT OF MUFTI ZUBAIR BHAYAT

Mufti Zubair Bhayat of Darul Ihsan Durban, claims that he is a Khalifa of Hakeem Akhtar Rahmatullahi alayh, who made it perfectly clear that any Khalifa of his who contravenes the Shariah, his Khilafat is automatically revoked and he is divested of his Khilafat.
Now, if a person took bay’at to Mufti Bhayat, what should he now do? Mufti Bhayat is in flagrant contravention of the Shariah, hence I am told that his khilaafat is automatically revoked. In addition to photography, his videos appear on some of his social platforms.
Similarly, Mufti Bhayat penned “Forewords” for certain kitaabs as well as a Qur’aan Sharief printed by Madrassah Da’watul Haq in Umzinto. Should the new copies keep the “Forewords” penned by Mufti Bhayat?
Should Zakaat funds, etc. be contributed to his organization, “Darul Ihsan”? The public seeks urgent guidance in this matter.
ANSWERS
In view of the automatic revocation of Mufti Bhayat’s khliaafat in terms of the directive of his Shaikh, he is obviously no longer a khalifah. Based on this fact, mureeds should respectfully terminate their relationship with him. The mureeds are expected to either verbally or by letter inform him respectfully of terminating the relationship. They should not be disrespectful when doing so.
New copies should delete his foreword. Zakaat or any other kinds of funds should not be contributed to his organization.
Our advice to the Mufti Bhayat is to reflect on Maut and the Aakhirah. If he realizes his errors, then it is not too late for reformation. The prescription for him to re-join the Ahlus Sunnah Wal Jama’ah and the Fraternity of the Ulama-e-Haqq is as follows:
- He should publicly proclaim his error of video, television and the like.
- He should abandon all shaitaani internet media.
- He should dissociate from haraam outfits such as UUCSA and JUSA.
- He should dissociate from sports groups.
These factors are essential requisites for a valid Taubah. If he can only understand the absolute importance of such Taubah before Maut claims him, then his khilaafat will be automatically reinstated. May Allah Ta’ala guide him and us all.
