MULTI-FAITH KUFR PRAYER FACILITY
Question
Is it permissible to perform Salaat in a multi-faith prayer facility? Please comment on the following answer given by Jamiatul Ulama KZN
“Q. There is a multi-faith prayer room being opened at our workplace. Is it permissible for us to perform salah at such a venue?
- If there are no animate pictures and no symbols or signs of any other religious group in the room then it will be permissible to perform Salaah there. As a general rule, we would advise that if another place is available to perform Salaah then that would be preferred.
If there are animate pictures or symbols of other religions then it will not be permissible to perform Salaah in that room. [Tahtaawi: 362]”
(End of Jamiat’s fatwa)
Answer
There is nothing more abhorrent to Allah Ta’ala than shirk and kufr. The Qur’aan Majeed states:
“Verily, Allah does not forgive the commission of Shirk with him. However, He forgive besides this for whomever He wills. Whoever commits shirk with Allah, has indeed forged a great sin.” (An-Nisaa’, Aayat 48)
The Qur’aan Majeed bristles with abhorrence for shirk. Condemnation of shirk is the primary subject matter discussed by the Qur’aan Majeed. The Mission of Rasulullah (Sallallahu alayhi wasallam) and of all the Ambiya was primarily to eradicate shirk.
A multi-faith worship centre is an abode of Shirk. It is also a venue/haunt for kuffaar females who come to worship their deities of shirk. It is not permissible for Muslims to perform Salaat in a multi-faith premises of Shirk.
The Jamiat KZN has erred in its attitude towards such an evil centre as well as in its fatwa which greatly minimizes the abhorrence of the abode of Shirk. While the Jamiat says:
“If there are animate pictures or symbols of other religions then it will not be permissible to perform Salaah in that room.”,
it minimizes the abhorrence for Shirk by saying:
“As a general rule, we would advise that if another place is available to perform Salaah then that would be preferred.”
Thus, as far as the Jamiat is concerned, it is only ‘preferable’ to perform Salaat elsewhere, in another place, whether it be a Musjid. If another place is available, then on what basis will it be only ‘preferable’ to perform Salaat in that ‘other place’? The conclusion is that according to the Jamiat it is permissible to perform Salaat in a place dedicated to Shirk, and that it is only advisable or preferable to perform in another place.
Truly, the Muftis of the Jamiat had not applied their minds on this important issue which is a matter of Imaan and Shirk/Kufr. With its flapdoodle fatwa the Jamiat has opened the way for ignorant Muslims to feel at home in a place/room/centre of Shirk. Just how can it be permissible with Shirk when according to the Jamiat it is not permissible with pictures of animate objects or with symbols of other religions? Surely the brains of even ordinary Muslims are able to comprehend that the evil and villainy of Shirk are worse than that of pictures which according to the deviate, maajin ‘muftis’, reverends, swamis and pundits are halaal?
Muslims performing Salaat in a multi-faith centre of Shirk will in time become acclimatized to Shirk and Kufr. They will be at good terms with Shirk just as one who works in a haraam butchery selling carrion and pork. The evil and filth of the haraam products will ultimately disappear from his heart. This will also be the effect on Muslims who become acclimatized to performing Salaat in a venue of Shirk. The fatwa of the Jamiat has the effect of eroding Imaani inhibition for Shirk as a consequence of the accommodation provided by the Jamiat. Association/mingling and frequency create desensitization. The Imaan of those who may become habituated to perform Salaat in the multi-faith room on the basis of the permissibility improperly opined by the Jamiat, will assuredly become desensitized.
Multi-faith worship centres are part of the interfaith plot which has been conspired by the Yahood and Nasaara to undermine and destroy Islam.
It is haraam stupidity to assume that Muslims cannot find alternate places for Salaat. Places for Salaat are always available for Muslims who perform Salaat. Regardless of there being no pictures and symbols, it is not permissible to perform Salaat in a place dedicated to Shirk and which is attended by kuffaar and mushrikeen including lewdly dressed females.
