REUNION OF JAAHILAHS
Querying the validity and permissibility of a women’s reunion, a Sister says:
“I was recently invited to attend an upcoming Girls Madresa Reunion in PE. The invitation is open to all graduates from the time of the Girls Madaaris’ inception and all ladies from the different Girls Madaaris in Port Elizabeth are invited (those who graduated).
I am concerned about this event because I am sure the male Asaatitha must be aware of it, yet nothing in the negative has been said? Is there not a Shura body that should decide these matters? Is there a concept of “Reunion” in Islam?
We request Moulana’s urgent advice on the matter. I feel that it is a very slippery, dangerous slope. I cannot say anything as I am not affiliated to any of the Madaaris, nor am I in contact with the Admin as it has been years since I have graduated. Many Aalimas are two minded about the event but no one is saying anything because they don’t want to offend others. Moulana’s advice will be greatly appreciated and beneficial.
I am feeling unsure about whether I am right or whether I am being unnecessary about my worry and concern about this weird, un-Islamic event because no one seems to be making a fuss about it.
An Ustadha at Banaatil Islaam told me that this event, which is due to take place on the 18th of May will be held at the Moosagies farm and every attendee is required to pay a fee of R150 (for meals, etc.). I just find that so shocking and extremely western.
I was also told that the event is being planned by old graduates, from 20+ years ago, and they just extended the invite to ALL graduates from the early 2000’s until 2023.
My concern is that this Reunion is so improperly un-Islamic, especially as it targets “Aalimas”, which will undoubtedly open doors of Fitnah, create a westernized mindset to everyone that such gatherings must be okay because ONLY Apa’s are involved.
It is a very weird and vulnerable feeling not to have any Ulama who know about this event stand up and say something. Can such a reunion of female aalimahs be correct?”
ANSWER AND COMMENT
How can such a shaitaani, merrymaking function of females projecting themselves as ‘aalimahs’ ever be permissible? There is no concept of reunion of ‘graduates’ whether they be male or female. For females, it is worse. When females are not permitted to come to the Musjid for even Fardh Salaat, how can it ever be permissible for them to gather in a gheebat session for merrymaking, gluttonous eating and talking drivel? These are the ingredients of all women’s gatherings.
This merrymaking function of the miscreant jaahilahs is in total rejection of the Qur’aanic command:
“And, remain glued in your homes and make not a display of yourselves such as the exhibition of jaahiliyyah.”
Where in Islam did these miscreant women find the basis for their shaitaani merrymaking outing? It will be a function of merrymaking, israaf, riya, takabbur, violation of Hijaab and projectionalism. These moron ‘aalimahs’ – the jaahliahs – have to understand that Hijaab is not restricted to donning of an abaya. The very first and fundamental of Hijaab is to remain ‘glued’ within the home as commanded by the Qur’aan.
The madrasahs where these unfortunate females had studied have denuded them of their inherent Imaani hayaa, hence they itch to be outside and in the public domain. Their abayas are a mere pretence to deceive, not to please Allah Ta’ala.
The males who are aiding these jaahilas with their haraam reunion merrymaking function are agents of Iblees. Women who have any Imaani haya and honour will not participate in this haraam merrymaking function inspired by shaitaan. Iblees lures women from their homes with such snares which are adorned with deeni hues.
If any woman is intelligent and sincere, her reflection will convince her that this reunion is a shaitaani function. In obedience to the command of Rasulullah (Sallallahu alayhi wasallam):
“Seek a Fatwa from your heart.”
Women should consult their conscience and seek a fatwa. They will not fail to understand that this reunion gimmick is a shaitaani ploy.
